Gunshots Fired Outside Salman Khan’s Residence in Mumbai’s Bandra; Maharashtra CM Assures Enhanced Security

Mumbai, 14th April 2024: In a startling incident, gunshots were fired outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra around 5 am on Sunday. Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle reportedly fired four rounds near Khan’s residence. Fortunately, Salman was inside his home when the incident occurred.

Following the shooting, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde promptly reached out to Salman Khan over the phone, assuring him of increased security measures. Subsequently, Shinde directed Mumbai Police Commissioner to bolster Salman’s security in light of the threat.

In response to the alarming incident, security has been beefed up outside Salman’s residence. The actor has been the target of death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldie Brar gang in the past.

Forensic experts and a team from the Mumbai Police Crime Branch swiftly arrived at the scene to investigate. They scanned nearby CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators. The forensic team discovered bullet marks on the balcony of Salman’s residence, indicating the intensity of the attack. Statements from the four security guards stationed at Galaxy Apartment during the incident have also been recorded by Mumbai Police.

The Joint Commissioner of Crime from Mumbai Police, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the local zone and the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) team, visited Salman’s residence to assess the situation.

Salman Khan, who has been residing in Galaxy Apartment for over four decades, occupies a ground-floor 1BHK apartment, while his parents reside on the first floor.

This isn’t the first time Salman has faced threats. In March 2023, the actor received threats from Lawrence Bishnoi, prompting the Maharashtra government to provide him with Y+ category security. Bishnoi, a jailed gangster, had reportedly threatened Khan over his alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.

Despite security measures, threats against Salman persist. In June 2022, his father, Salim Khan, received a death threat letter, followed by multiple instances of threats via phone calls and emails.

Salman Khan, meanwhile, continues with his professional commitments. Recently, he announced his next film, ‘Sikander,’ directed by A. R. Murugadoss, slated for an Eid release next year. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, marks the collaboration between Khan and the renowned filmmaker.
