High Voltage Wire Snaps, Halts Vande Bharat Train at Narsinghpur Railway Station

Pune, 31 March, 2024: A major accident occurred today at the Pindrai Ghat in Narsinghpur as the overhead high voltage wires snapped upon the arrival of the Vande Bharat Train. As a result, the train’s wheels came to an abrupt stop, disrupting rail traffic operations. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported in the collision, but the unanticipated delay caused inconvenience for the passengers.

The Vande Bharat Train was travelling from Jabalpur to Bhopal when the tragedy occurred, causing the wheels to abruptly stop. As a result, all trains headed towards Bhopal likewise stopped, impacting local railway operations.
Repairs for the shattered cables started right away and took roughly two hours to complete.

Train services were not to be resumed until the wires were fixed. The severe heat and interrupted power supply in the coaches caused additional discomfort for the passengers who were left trapped on all three trains whilst the repair.

The repairs were finished and the trains set out again for their separate destinations. Details of the incident were given by Narsinghpur Station Master Sunil Jat, who said that traffic was hampered by an overhead wire breaking close to Pindrai Ghat, which supplies power at a voltage of about 25,000 kilovolts (kV). Though there were sparks from the broken wire, there was no serious harm done.

As of now, the repair work has been completed, and all trains have resumed their journey to their destination.
