Indian Army Hosts Ex-Servicemen Rally in Manipur to Address Veterans’ Concerns

New Delhi, 28th February 2024: In a continued effort to connect with veterans, the Indian Army organized an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally at Senapati on February 28, following the rally at Bishnupur on February 26. The event witnessed a significant turnout, with 500 veterans, 09 Veer Naris, 48 widows, and 21 dependents from Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, and Kamjong districts in Manipur participating.

The primary objective of the rally was to facilitate the ESM community in registering grievances related to pension documentation and other anomalies. Dedicated assistance booths were set up to provide support and guidance on crucial matters, including healthcare, pension anomalies, and ECHS Polyclinic services. The rally aimed to address the unique needs and concerns of ESM attendees comprehensively.

Medical specialists and dental experts from the Army and District Civil Hospital organized a medical camp during the event, offering medical assistance and providing medicines to the rally attendees.

The GOC, Red Shield Division, interacted with veterans and Veer Naris, expressing gratitude for their sacrifices and services to the nation. He commended the ESM community’s invaluable contributions to the Indian Army, especially during the prevailing security situation in Manipur. The GOC assured all participants of the swift resolution of their issues.

Despite the challenges posed by the present situation, the Indian Army remains committed to addressing the concerns of veterans, Veer Naris, and war widows in a timely manner. The Ex-Servicemen Rally reflects this commitment, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and solidarity within the Indian Armed Forces.
