Kalyan: Pedestrian Burnt After Passengers Of car Throw Acid On His Face, Hospital Aid Becomes Difficult To Find

Kalyan, 21st February 2023: A pedestrian walking on foot from the Sukhari Naka area in Kalyan East was severely burnt after the passengers of a white car threw acid on his face. After throwing the acid, the motor car driver sped away. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon at Sutakanaka in Kalyan East.

As the patient could not be treated at Rukminibai Hospital, he was taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Hospital in Kalwa. There the doctor advised his family to take him to Mumbai for treatment. As the relatives of the patient decided not to proceed, the injured patient was brought home to Kalyan. If such patients are not treated in municipal hospitals, then the question has been raised whether these hospitals are only for fevers and colds. On the complaint of Sushil’s niece Rasika Bandivadekar, a resident of Netivali, Kalyan East, the Kolsewadi police have registered a case.

Police said Rasika Bandivadekar lives in Kalyan East with her mother and grandmother. Rasika works at Ghatkopar. Rasika’s uncle Sushil Munankar works at Meera Bhayandar. Last Monday, Sushil came home as a guest at Rasika’s house. Around 2.30 pm on Sunday, Sushil was walking to his niece’s house from Sukhtar Naka in Kalyan East. While passing by Netivali Naka Oma Hospital, a white-coloured motor car came from the front. A stranger in the car sprayed Sushil with a strong spray on his face from the running car. Sushil bent down to miss it. At that time acid from the spray was thrown on his face. By the time he reached home, Sushil’s face and eyes had started burning.

Sushil was immediately rushed by his relatives to Bai Rukminibai Hospital in Kalyan, Kalyan Dombivli Municipality. After giving first aid there, doctors asked him to take him to Chhatrapati Shivaji Hospital in Kalwa. The doctors there asked to take Sushil to a hospital in Mumbai. Angered by the advice and treatment received from the hospitals, the relatives brought Sushil to their residence. The police are searching for the accused by checking the CCTV footage of this area.
