Mahavikas Aghadi Dominates Mumbai Lok Sabha Polls; Gaikwad Wins Against Nikam in Last Round
Mumbai, 4th June 2024: The results of the general Lok Sabha elections were announced today, revealing a significant victory for the Mahavikas Aghadi in Mumbai’s Lok Sabha seats. Out of the city’s total of six Lok Sabha seats, candidates from the Mahavikas Aghadi secured victory in five.
The most closely contested election was in the North Central Mumbai Lok Sabha Constituency, where BJP candidate Ujjwal Nikam was defeated, and Congress candidate Varsha Gaikwad emerged victorious.
The counting process was marked by considerable confusion, particularly in the North Central Mumbai constituency, where Varsha Gaikwad, the Mumbai regional president of Congress, competed against BJP’s Ujjwal Nikam.
Throughout the vote counting, a fierce battle unfolded between these two candidates. Initially, Ujjwal Nikam held the lead, but Varsha Gaikwad ultimately surpassed him in the final stages of the count.
