Men Forced to Apologize in Navi Mumbai Theatre for Laughing During ‘Chhaava’ Climax

Navi Mumbai, 3rd March 2025: A video circulating on social media captures five men being compelled to apologize inside a Navi Mumbai theatre for laughing and making jokes during the climax of the film Chhaava.

The incident occurred at Balaji Movieplex in the Kopar Khairane area.

The group allegedly disrupted a crucial scene depicting the brutal torture of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

In the viral clip, the men were seen kneeling and apologizing for their actions, which were perceived as disrespectful to the Maratha ruler’s sacrifice. One of them mistakenly apologized to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, prompting the crowd to correct him and insist that he seek forgiveness from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj instead.

He then switched to Hindi, admitting, “While the film on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was playing, we were laughing.”

Another statement from the group included, “This is our karmabhoomi, how can we forget?”

Following the apology, they were made to leave the theatre.
