Mumbai: 37-Year-Old Police Constable Dies by Suspected Suicide in Malad

Mumbai, 4th March 2025: A 37-year-old Mumbai police constable was found dead at his residence in Malad on Monday in what authorities suspect to be a case of suicide.
Officials reported that Subhash Parshuram Kangane’s body was discovered by a colleague at his home in the Nagari Nivara Council Colony while no one else was present. The Dindoshi police recovered a handwritten note in Marathi, indicating that Kangane had been experiencing significant stress, which may have led him to take this step.
Sources revealed that a complaint was allegedly filed with the zonal DCP under Kangane’s name, accusing senior officers of misconduct. In his note, Kangane reportedly referenced this “fabricated complaint,” suggesting it had contributed to his distress. He was posted at the Kurar Police Station.
Authorities have registered an accidental death report and are scrutinizing the claims mentioned in the note. Investigators plan to record statements from Kangane’s wife and close colleagues to understand the circumstances leading to his death.
Kangane’s wife and two children were visiting her hometown at the time of the incident.
