Mumbai: 52 Motorcyclists Arrested in Bandra and Kherwadi for Illegal Racing and Stunts

Mumbai, 17th February 2025: In the early hours of Sunday, a coordinated operation by Bandra and Kherwadi police led to the arrest of 52 motorcyclists and the impounding of their bikes for allegedly engaging in illegal racing and stunts at Reclamation and along the Western Express Highway (WEH).

The operation targeted reckless riders who posed a threat to public safety, focusing on areas between Bandra Reclamation and Kherwadi Junction on WEH. Following reports of motorcycle racing on Mount Mary Road in Bandra and along WEH in Kherwadi, the police control room quickly alerted the relevant police stations. Bandra police arrested 14 bikers, while Kherwadi police detained 38, all of whom were charged under various sections of the BNS and Motor Vehicles Act. The 52 motorcyclists have been issued notices to appear at their respective police stations for further investigation.
