Mumbai Auto Driver Turns Rickshaw into Karaoke Stage, Wins Hearts Online
Mumbai, 10th February 2025: A Mumbai auto-rickshaw driver has transformed his vehicle into a mobile karaoke stage, entertaining passengers with live performances of Bollywood classics. A video circulating on Instagram captures him passionately singing while navigating the city’s streets. His rickshaw is adorned with signs reading “Karaoke Autorickshaw,” “Please like, comment, and share,” and “Google Search” on its roof.
In the viral clip, he is seen performing the song Phir Wahi Raat Hai from the 1979 film Ghar, delighting onlookers. According to the video’s caption, the moment was recorded on a Saturday night around 11 p.m. in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
His unique approach and love for music have earned him admiration on social media.
“He’s following his passion while earning a living—because passion alone doesn’t pay the bills. More power to him,” one user commented. Another wrote, “Even with a Ferrari, you wouldn’t experience this kind of joy.” A different comment read, “At least he isn’t making excuses about not having time,” while another user remarked, “This proves that happiness isn’t about material wealth but a state of mind.”
Just last week, a Pune auto-rickshaw equipped with powerful speakers, colourful LED lights, and even an aquarium gained attention online. A viral Instagram clip showcased the auto’s interior decorated with fairy lights and an aquarium filled with fish positioned behind the driver’s seat. The speakers were mounted atop the aquarium, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.
Previously, a Bengaluru auto-rickshaw driver was praised for converting his vehicle into a mini-library. His auto housed a small collection of books with thought-provoking titles such as Why Divorce?* and God Loves You. A note inside encouraged passengers to browse and take books for free, reading, “Free for all, take if you wish.”
