Mumbai: Banner Dispute Sparks Public Brawl Between Two Groups In Indiranagar

Mumbai, 4th September 2023: In a shocking incident that unfolded on Friday, a heated dispute over the placement of a Dahi Handi banner led to violent altercations between two groups in Indiranagar. The clash, which occurred due to opposition to banners being erected by the Dadubhai Pratishthan of Savarkar Nagar and Srinivas Mahila Mandal in the Savarkar Nagar area, resulted in the registration of a case against six individuals at the Wagle Estate Police Station.

Preparations had been in progress by the Dadubhai Pratishthan and Srinivas Mahila Mandal to display a banner in the vicinity of the Madina Mutton Shop in Indiranagar. However, tensions flared when Azim Khan and his supporters vehemently protested the banner installation. The initial dispute was eventually quelled after the intervention of the Wagle Estate Police, who managed to mediate between the opposing parties.

Despite the initial resolution, the banner-related disagreement reignited later in the evening. The Wagle Estate Police received information that both groups were again involved in a confrontation. The police swiftly intervened once more, engaging in discussions with the groups to de-escalate the situation and restore normalcy in the area.

However, as night fell, a sudden altercation erupted involving several individuals. The skirmish involved Wasim Sheikh, Imran Dadu Sheikh, Saddam Khan, Azim Khan, and Akash (baby) Jaiswal, as well as Chandesh Yadav. The altercation, believed to be rooted in the ongoing banner dispute, prompted the Wagle Estate Police to take action, resulting in the registration of a case against all six individuals involved, representing both groups.
