Mumbai: BEST Initiates Bus Route Changes Amid Dahi Handi Celebrations In Mumbai

Mumbai, 7th September 2023: In light of the vibrant Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai city and its suburbs, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) initiative has announced significant changes to several bus routes. These changes come as a response to the ongoing construction of pavilions and mandaps at various key locations across the city, affecting the daily commute of numerous residents.

The first route is from Marol Mahakali Cave to Vikhroli depo in Andheri East, which will undergo changes due to the construction of a pavilion at Shreyas Junction. Therefore, the bus (Bus Route No. 410) running on this route will go directly to Vikhroli depo instead of going to Amritnagar.

Similarly, due to another construction of a pavilion at Rawalpada bus stop, bus service (bus route no. 298) running from Rawalpada to Borivali railway station in Dahisar East has been suspended at Dongrewadi.

Bus route No. 397, which typically runs from Kannamwar Nagar to Vikhroli Railway Station, has experienced a diversion. Passengers will now be directed to the Ramchandra Shirodkar route, as mandap construction is underway at Kannamwar Nagar.

Another adjustment affects commuters travelling on bus route No. 378 from Mankhurd Station to Trombay. This route will be disrupted due to the construction of a mandap near the Municipal Corporation School in Mankhurd.

These alterations in bus routes are aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of passengers during the ongoing Dahi Handi celebrations, which draw large crowds and necessitate temporary route adjustments. The BEST initiative advises commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and stay informed about any further updates regarding these modified routes.
