Mumbai: Biryani Seller Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 10-Year-Old Girl in Boisar

Boisar, 1st July 2023: A biryani vendor in Boisar has been arrested for allegedly misconducting with a 10-year-old girl. This shocking incident unfolded on Thursday, June 29, when the mother of the minor girl registered a complaint against the shopkeeper for sexually assaulting her daughter. Consequently, police charged the biryani shopkeeper under the POSCO Act, and further actions are being taken by the police in this regard.
On Thursday, a 10-year-old girl, along with her 4-year-old sister and her friend, went into the shop to take biryani in Boisar at around 7 p.m. In the evening. Around 7:30, three of them returned home after taking biryani. But the ten-year-old girl who returned home started crying in fear.
When her mother took the girl under confidence, she told her mother about the shocking incident that happened to her. According to the minor girl, after reaching the biryani shop, the biryani seller sent her younger sister and the neighbouring girl to the shop opposite the biryani shop. After the two left, the shop owner took the ten-year-old girl inside the shop and sexually assaulted her. After the girl was frightened, the shopkeeper allowed her to go. Till this time, her sister and her friend came, after which the biryani seller gave them a packet of biryani, and they returned home.
After the terrified girl narrated the incident to her mother, the mother called her father home. After that the victim girl’s mother filed a complaint against the biryani seller at the Boisar police station. In this case, a case has been registered against the biryani seller under Section 353 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 8 and 12 of the POSCO Act, and the accused has been arrested.
