Mumbai: CM Eknath Shinde Appeals To Give One Minute A Day For Cleanliness’, Governor Pledges To Save Sea

Mumbai, 22nd May 2023: As part of the ‘G20’ summit chaired by India, a seashore cleaning drive was organized at Juhu Chowpatty today (May 22). On this occasion, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde appealed that everyone should devote a minute of their daily life towards cleanliness.

Governor Ramesh Bais, Union Environment and Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav, and Union Minister of State Ashwini Kumar Choubey were also present during this campaign organized by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

On this occasion, CM Eknath Shinde said, “Every work of ours should be environment friendly. Public participation is important in ocean cleanup. Environmental balance and global warming need special attention. Hence, it would be advisable for the citizens to do their work and give one minute of their day for cleanliness.”

On this occasion, Governor Bais took an oath to keep the beach clean and protect the sea from pollution and garbage. The representatives of G20 countries as well as other invited countries also pledged to keep the beaches clean while participating in the cleanliness drive.

CM Shinde further stated, “Activities like cleanliness drives are needed to maintain the balance of the environment. Everyone should give some time in their life for cleanliness, it will help to maintain the balance of the environment. It will also provide relief from the problems faced due to global warming and climate change.”
