Mumbai Coastal Road Project Inauguration Set for March 12: CM Eknath Shinde Highlights 99% Completion

Mumbai, 8th March 2024: The Mumbai Coastal Road Project is set to be officially inaugurated on March 12, with the presence of key dignitaries, including the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Guardian Minister, and BMC Commissioner.
Despite an initial plan to inaugurate Phase 1 on February 19, the event was postponed. CM Eknath Shinde, after inspecting the Coastal Road from Marine Drive to Worli, expressed that 99% of the project is completed, emphasizing safety measures in place, such as firefighting and lighting installations.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the advanced tunnel system’s security features, with 10 crossing points, two being vehicular and eight manual. The inauguration is eagerly anticipated as the Coastal Road aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance coastal connectivity, though its delayed opening has added a layer of complexity to its progress.
After the commencement ceremony, there are scheduled Women’s Day festivities set to take place in the presence of BMC AMC Ashwini Bhide.
