Mumbai: Delhi Fashion Designer Rapes By Her Friend In Mumbai; Accused Absconded After Incident
Khar, 15th September 2023: A Delhi-based fashion designer was allegedly raped by her friend, who is an entrepreneur by profession in Mumbai. The incident came to light after a woman registered a complaint against her friend at Khar Police Station on Thursday, September 14. The Print has given this news, quoting the Press Trust of India (PTI).
The 28-year-old fashion designer from Delhi had come to Mumbai for a Mumbai tour. Since it was her first time in Mumbai, she decided to stay with her male friend in his house in the Khar area. However, the woman accused her friend of unjustly tricking her and raping her. She further accused her friend of beating her.
In the morning of September 14, when the woman discovered that she had been sexually exploited by the accused, she immediately went into the police station and filed a complaint regarding it at Khar Police Station.
Based on her complaint, the police registered a case against the accused on Thursday and booked him under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 376 (rape), 354 (sexual harassment), 354 B (assault or use of criminal force on a woman for the purpose of undressing), and 323 (intentionally causing hurt). 509 (molestation) acts.
According to the police, the accused absconded after the incident. Police informed that the accused is being searched for and that an investigation has been started in this case.
