Mumbai: Electric Store At Andheri Catches Fire, One Death Reported

Mumbai, 27th March 2023: An electric and hardware store at Andheri’s Sakinaka Metro station caught fire on Monday, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). When Rakesh Gupta (22) was brought to the hospital in a hurry, the medical officer at Rajawadi hospital pronounced him dead.

The civic organisation claims that the fire started early on Monday. In response to the information, the Bombay Fire Brigade sped to the scene and started fighting the fire. It was categorised as a Level-1 fire by the Bombay Fire Department.

An official stated that the fire in Rajshree Hardware Shop was limited to electrical wiring, electrical installations, and a sizable store of hardware in an area of around 40x50ft. Additionally, it was discovered by members of the public that two to three people were trapped inside. The two-story building with a ground-plus loft has lost its loft. It was challenging to enter the building due to the collapsed loft and massive quantity of hardware. With the aid of a JCB, the front half of the building is currently being destroyed.
