Mumbai: False Bomb Threat Creates Chaos At Mumbai Airport
Mumbai, 21st October 2023: A brief moment of panic gripped Mumbai’s bustling airport yesterday when a passenger claimed to be carrying a bomb in his bag, only to be revealed as a false alarm after a thorough inspection.
The incident unfolded on the afternoon of October 20 when a Pune-to-Delhi flight made an unexpected landing in Mumbai. An unidentified passenger complained of severe chest pain, prompting the plane’s immediate landing. However, shockingly, upon disembarking, the passenger alarmed fellow travellers and airport staff by asserting the presence of a bomb in his bag.
Chaos ensued as the announcement sent shockwaves through the airport. Quick response teams, including the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), swiftly swung into action to inspect the suspect’s bag. To everyone’s relief, no harmful substances were discovered during the thorough examination, confirming that the threat was baseless. Subsequent investigations have revealed that the passenger was not in the right mental state. According to his relatives, he had been under the influence of drugs during the incident. The airport police have arrested the individual, and they are now delving into the matter with a deeper probe.
