Mumbai: Guardian Minister Announces Renaming Of Municipal Swimming Pool At Gilbert Hill On Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Name

Mumbai, 3rd September 2023: Mumbai Suburban District’s Guardian Minister, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, has unveiled plans to rename the municipal swimming pool located at Gilbert Hill, Andheri (West), as the “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Swimming Pool” in commemoration of the 350th anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation.
During the inauguration of the newly constructed international-standard swimming pool by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation at Gilbert Hill, Lodha expressed the government’s commitment to developing the area into a prominent tourist attraction in Mumbai.
The event, attended by local MLA Amit Satam and municipal officials, marked the opening of the 10th swimming pool in Mumbai, which will now be accessible to the public. Membership registration for this swimming pool has commenced today, with 2,750 slots available for online registration at swimmingpool.mcgm.gov.in starting at 11 a.m. on September 3, 2023. After completing the registration process, this swimming pool will be open to members on October 1, 2023.
On this occasion, Lodha further proposed the construction of a gymnasium in the open space here, and women should be given more priority in the membership registration of the swimming pool.
