Mumbai: Joint Operation By Dongri Police And Anti-Narcotics Cell Busted Drug Racket, Two Arrested, Including Foreign National

Dongri, 18th August 2023: In a significant crackdown on illicit narcotics activities, a special operation carried out jointly by Dongri police and the Anti-Narcotics Cell Mumbai resulted in the arrest of two individuals, one of whom is a foreign national. The operation led to the seizure of drugs with an estimated value of Rs 50 lakh. Along with it, a cache of weapons and various contraband items were also confiscated by the police in this operation.

The operation, which took place yesterday, culminated in the apprehension of the suspects from the Chinchbundar area of Dongri. Authorities confiscated half a kilogram of mephedrone and 80 grams of hashish from one of the individuals, the combined value of which is estimated to be around Rs 34 lakh. Notably, the suspects were found in possession of an assortment of weapons, including a sword, a knife, and a village pistol.

Following the initial arrests, further investigation conducted by the Dongri police led to the identification of a foreign national. Planned action was taken, and the individual, a Nigerian citizen, was detained in the Mira Road area. During a thorough search, police discovered a stash of illicit substances weighing approximately 200 grams, including MD, cocaine, and charas, all concealed within a black plastic bag. Additionally, the foreign national was found in possession of a sum of three and a half lakh rupees in cash.

The seized items included an array of weaponry and equipment, reflecting the scale of the operation. Among the confiscated items were an air pistol, a village knife, four live cartridges, 12 packets of pellets, a sword, a knife, an electronic weighing machine, 26 mobile phones, three Samsung tablets, an Apple MacBook, an HP laptop, and a significant amount of cash.

After registering a complaint against the duo, police found that both accused had already been registered with one case against them in an earlier case.
