Mumbai: Man Found With Rs 80 Lakh Fake Notes, Arrested

Mumbai, 28th December 2022: The Crime Branch police seized 16,000 fake currency notes of Rs 500 at Powai. A 31-year-old man was arrested by the police of the crime branch in this case. Police Constable Satish Kamble of Room-10 of the Crime Branch received information about a gang dealing in fake Indian currency notes. Accordingly, the police laid a trap near Ambedkar Garden in the Saki Vihar area of Powai. At that time, a suspicious person came there on a bike. The person was observed walking suspiciously there with a red coloured bag. When the police checked the bag with him, it was found that it contained fake notes of 500 rupees.

On investigation, it was found that he owned 160 bundles of Rs 500 notes. Their price is 80 lakh rupees. Fake notes have been seized from the accused. Saujanya Bhushan Patil (31) was arrested by the Crime Branch police in this case. A case has been registered against the accused at Powai Police Station for possession of fake notes and trying to circulate them. When the accused was arrested and produced before the court, the police informed him that he was remanded in police custody till 4th January.
