Mumbai: Man Looted At Gunpoint, Accused Arrested

Mumbai, 12th January 2023: The Bangur Nagar police arrested three persons, including the main accused, who tied both hands and feet of a servant at gunpoint and looted cash and gold ornaments from the cupboard, within 48 hours. The arrested accused have been identified as Devesh Premchand Savasia, Mustakeen alias Sohail Rahim Shaikh, and Sarvesh Kallu Sharma. Sarvesh is a contractor. Investigation revealed that he was the one who planned the conspiracy. Police seized the stolen cash and jewellery from the accused. At present, all three accused are in police custody, police said.

The incident took place between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm on Sunday at Dheeraj Apartment near Oshiwara Bus Depot in Goregaon. Santosh Ravi Shankar Gupta lives with his servant Vikas Chaudhary in the 12th-floor flat of this apartment. Santosh is associated with Bollywood and started producing a web series. Vikas has been working with them for the past four years and is a resident of Jharkhand. On Sunday, 8th January, Santosh went to see a flat at Mira Road with his friend Ajay Singh Rathore. Vikas was at home this time. At that time, two young men came to his house.

Both of them interrogated Santosh Gupta and entered the flat. After that, before knowing anything, these two showed Vikas a pistol and tied his hands and feet. They took the key to the cupboard from him and fled with cash and gold jewellery worth around Rs 40 lakh from the cupboard. Vikas immediately informed Santosh Gupta about this incident. After that, he came home immediately. Santosh narrated the incident to the Bangur Nagar police. Based on their complaint, the police registered a case against both the accused under sections 392, 454, 380, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. As soon as the case was registered, the police started a search operation. After examining the technical information received at that time and the CCTV footage, the police detained Devesh and Maskeen for questioning.

In the interrogation, he confessed to having committed this crime. It was also revealed in the investigation that Sarvesh had hatched this conspiracy. After that, the police detained Sarvesh for questioning. Sarvesh is a contractor and worked at Santosh Gupta’s house. He lived with them for one and a half months. In the meantime, these two had become well acquainted with him. As Santhosh was associated with Bollywood, there were always financial transactions worth lakhs of rupees at his house. He had an idea. That is why he had planned a robbery at their house with the help of Devesh and Mustakin.
