Mumbai: Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell Busted Major Drug Racket; Seized Rs 30 Lakh Worth Of Drugs

Mahim, 5th August 2023: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Police busted a rampant drug racket yesterday, arresting five drug peddlers and seizing drugs valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh. The operation was carried out by the Bandra unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell in the Mahim area.

Following the arrests, the accused have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The Mumbai Police suspect that these arrested individuals are part of a big drug racket that is operating across the country.

Earlier in June, the anti-narcotics squad linked to this racket had arrested two drug smugglers from the Shivdi area and seized MDMA drugs worth Rs 30 lakh. The arrested suspects had been identified as hailing from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh and Jalna in Maharashtra. Similarly, last week, Navi Mumbai Police arrested a Nigerian citizen from Kalyan for alleged involvement in drug peddling.
