Mumbai: Northern Entrance Of Magathane Metro Station Reopens After Two-Month Closure

Borivali, 13th September 2023: In a welcome development for commuters on the ‘Dahisar – Gundavali Metro 7’ route, the northern entrance of Magathane Metro Station has finally reopened after a two-month hiatus. Now, with the reopening of this entrance, it is expected that it will alleviate the inconveniences faced by metro passengers during the closure.
The closure, which lasted for two months, was necessitated by an unfortunate incident in July when a road collapse occurred during construction work by a private developer in close proximity to Magathane metro station. Given its proximity to the northern entrance of the metro station, a portion of the station was adversely affected. Consequently, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) took the proactive step of closing off the affected area, including the northern entrance of the station.
In the aftermath of the incident, an in-depth inspection of the impacted area of the metro station was conducted with the active participation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. Following the inspection, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation promptly undertook the necessary repairs to restore the road and the affected area to their previous condition.
With the successful completion of these repair efforts and the assurance of safety, MMMOCL officials took to Twitter to announce the much-anticipated reopening of the northern entrance of Magathane Metro Station. This announcement was met with relief from regular commuters, who had been eagerly awaiting the restoration of their access point to the metro network.
