Mumbai: Over 32,000 Tourists Visit Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan And Zoo Today

Mumbai, 1st January 2023: As many as 32,820 tourists visited Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan (Park) and Zoo, located in Byculla of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, on Sunday, 1st January. With this record number, the zoo broke the previous record of single-day visitor visits set on 6th November 2022.

Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Park and Zoo has been renovated, and various birds and animals have been brought to this place. A penguin exhibition has also been created along with it. Therefore, this zoo has become an attraction for tourists not only from Mumbai but from all over the country, especially children. The zoo, which was closed during the Covid period as an infection prevention measure, has become a major tourist attraction after the end of the Covid restrictions – It is consistently proven by the increasing number of visitors and the accompanying increase in revenue generation. There is a substantial increase in the number of people visiting these parks and zoos, especially during weekends and public holidays. A large number of tourists visited this zoo on Sunday, the first day of the new year

Earlier, on 6th November 2022, a record number of 31,841 tourists visited this place in a single day. On that day, a revenue of about Rs 11,12,925 was collected in the coffers of the Municipal Corporation. The record has been broken today, with as many as 32,820 tourists. The income today was about Rs 13,78,725. 27,262 tourists bought their tickets from the counter (Rs 9,60,725), and 5,558 people bought their tickets online (Rs 4,18,000).

Interestingly, a separate ticket window was made available for women to avoid any inconvenience as a record number of tourists were entering. The crowd was controlled with additional security guards.
