Mumbai: Passenger Assaults CISF Jawan At Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Arrested By Police

Mumbai, 4th August 2023: In a shocking incident at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan was pummelled by a passenger, leading to the arrest of the assailant. The incident occurred on August 4, when 36-year-old CISF jawan Mayur Babarao Jadhav was on duty at the airport.
According to the complaint, when Jadhav was on duty yesterday, a distressed woman approached him, seeking help from a fellow passenger who was allegedly troubling her. Responding promptly, the jawan asked the accused passenger for his identity card and admonished him.
Disregarding the jawan’s warning, the passenger wrangled with him. On repeated requests for the passenger’s ID card, the accused attacked the jawan and punched him three to four times aggressively.
Coming to the aid of their colleague, another CISF jawan named Vishnu Prasad rushed to the scene and managed to apprehend the passenger. The accused was immediately taken into the CISF control room for further investigation.
During the course of the investigation, the assailant was identified as Sandeep Singh, a resident of Uttarakhand. It was revealed that he was en route to Leh, as indicated by the tickets found with him.
In response to the shocking attack on a government employee, the Sahar Police registered a formal complaint against Sandeep Singh. He has been charged with obstructing government work and assaulting a government employee.
