Mumbai Police Foils Bomb Threat Plot, Arrests Accused from Uttar Pradesh

Mumbai, 23rd June 2023: In a swift operation, the Mumbai Police successfully apprehended an individual from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, who had made a threatening call to the police control helpline.

The accused, identified as Darvesh Rajbhar, allegedly claimed that he and his team had planted bombs at several locations in Mumbai and Pune. Demanding a ransom of Rs 2 lakh, he threatened to trigger the explosives unless the money was delivered promptly.

According to officials, the accused specifically mentioned Andheri and Kurla in Mumbai, along with multiple spots in Pune, as the intended targets of the planned blasts, scheduled to occur at approximately 6:30 pm on June 24. Additionally, he revealed that he had received a sum of Rs 2 Crore for executing this sinister act.

Immediately after receiving the distressing call, the Mumbai Police swiftly mobilized their resources, successfully tracing the location of the caller to Jaunpur. A dedicated team was dispatched to the area, and within a short period, the accused was apprehended.

Subsequently, the Mumbai Police registered a case against Darvesh Rajbhar under sections 505(1)(b), 505(2), and 185 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The investigation into the matter is ongoing as the authorities work diligently to gather more information and ascertain the full extent of the accused’s intentions and potential accomplices.
