Mumbai: Police Orders Ban On Using Drones In Some Parts Of Mumbai On The Backdrop Of PM Modi’s Upcoming Mumbai Visit

Mumbai, 19th August 2023: On the backdrop of PM Narendra Modi’s Mumbai visit, police authorities issued an order banning drones in the Bandra Kurla Complex, Andheri, and Jogeshwari areas. The order regarding the drone ban was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Police Vishal Thakur on Monday.

 

The order will be in force from the night of August 18 to the night of September 16. In the order, the police clarified that the decision has been taken on the pretext of the potential threat of some miscreants using drones to carry out destructive activities or disrupt law and order in the city.

 

According to an order issued by the Mumbai Police, drones, remote-controlled micro-light aircraft, para-gliders, para-motors, hand gliders, hot air balloons, etc. will be banned in Mumbai Police limits from August 18 to September 16.

 

However, the drones used for aerial surveillance by the Mumbai Police have been excluded in this order. The police have been strictly warned to take appropriate measures against the person who violates the orders. The order stated that action will be taken against the citizens who violate this order under Section 188 of the Criminal Procedure C
