Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch Succeeds In Bringing Young Woman Stranded Abroad To India

Mumbai, 12th April 2023: The efforts made by the Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police to bring the young women stuck abroad safely to India have finally succeeded. A false case was registered against this young woman and her mobile phone was confiscated. But the police of Cell 10 of the Crime Branch got in touch with the Indian embassy abroad and brought the girl back to India safely.
Tejal Rama Gavas (23) of Tiswadi, Goa, had gone to Bahrain for employment on 17th February 2013 through foreign agents Suresh Kumar and Kadar. There she was forced to do housework in the name of a job. When she refused this work, a case of theft was registered against her. Her mobile phone was also confiscated. So the young woman could not contact anyone. The girl’s family, frightened by the case, contacted their other relatives.
Her relative Vishnu Raul lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police on 14th March. Raul requested the police to bring Tejal back to India. The police of Cell 10 of the Crime Branch were ordered to take immediate action in this matter.
Accordingly, Police Inspector Deepak Sawant, and Assistant Police Inspector Dhanraj Chaudhary, in charge of Cell 10 of the Crime Branch, immediately contacted the foreign dispatch agents and the officers of the Indian Advocate in Bahrain and started efforts to bring Tejal to India.
Also, the resident Indian citizen of Bahrain, President of Gulf Maharashtra Business Forum Dr Sunil Manjrekar, Jaywant Palekar was contacted. With them, along with the help of an Indian lawyer in Bahrain, arrangements were made to send the girl from Bahrain safely to India.
