Mumbai: Reckless Driving Claims Life Of 69-Year-Old In Vikhroli; Investigation Underway
Vikhroli, 21st September 2023: In a rash driving incident, a 69-year-old person died after being hit by an unknown vehicle. The incident happened on Wednesday at around 10 p.m. on the Vikhroli Expressway. Vikhroli Police has registered a complaint against an unknown driver in this case for negligent driving, and the investigation of the accused is underway with the help of CCTV footage.
The deceased person is identified as Nandkumar Malekar. Malekar was living with his family in a Vikhroli area and was working as a security guard in housing societies. Yesterday, he had an afternoon shift of 2 PM to 10 PM.
Yesterday night, after completing his duty, Malekar was returning home. At that time, at around 10.30 PM, an unknown driver hit Malekar with his car near the Godrej Ghodagate signal, leaving him deadly injured. Immediately, a nearby stander named Akbar Khan called his family and informed them about the accident.
Malekar was promptly admitted to the Rajawadi Hospital for treatment. However, doctors informed that Malekar lost his life during the medical treatment.
Naveen Malekar, the son of the deceased person, has registered a complaint in this case against an unknown person at the Vikhroli Police Station. Meanwhile, police are searching for the accused vehicle driver with the help of CCTV cameras installed on the road.
