Mumbai: Rejected Boyfriend Allegedly Assaults Woman For Declining Relationship

Bhandup, 17th October 2023: A startling incident of stabbing on the girl’s neck after she refused to have a relationship with a boy transpired in the Bhandup area on Saturday. In this case, Bhandup police registered a case against the youth and arrested him.

The 27-year-old suspect, identified as Chetan Gaikwad, resides in the Tembhipada area of Bhandup. Chetan had been in a relationship with a 21-year-old woman from the same locality for several years. However, a few days ago, the young woman decided to terminate her relationship with Chetan.

Frustrated by her decision, Chetan invited her to meet at a café on October 12, hoping to resolve their relationship issues. Unfortunately, they couldn’t reach an agreement. On October 14, he again asked her to meet him in Andheri, but she remained firm in her decision to end the relationship, while Chetan was determined to continue.

On their way back from Andheri in a rickshaw, Chetan proposed marriage to the young woman, but she declined any further involvement in the relationship. Due to this, resentful Chetan took a knife from his pocket and stabbed the girl’s neck multiple times in a moving rikshaw. After the incident, the accused ran from the spot, leaving her completely helpless.

The victim girl immediately reached Bhandup police station and registered a police complaint against him. The Bhandup police admitted her to Rajawadi Hospital and quickly started a lookout for the accused.
