Mumbai: RPF Constable Saves Passenger from Near-Fatal Fall at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus

Mumbai, 31st May 2025: In a heroic act of quick response and bravery, RPF Constable Ram Narayan Singh of Central Railway’s Mumbai Division saved the life of a passenger who slipped while attempting to board a moving train at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT).

The incident occurred on May 30, 2025, as Train No. 12201 DN LTT-Kochuveli Garib Rath Express was departing from Platform No. 4 at LTT. A passenger, in a rush to board the already moving train, lost his balance and fell into the gap between the platform and the train.

Ram Narayan Singh, who was on active platform duty, immediately sprang into action, grabbed the passenger just in time, and pulled him to safety, preventing what could have been a tragic railway accident.

Passenger Was in Urgent Distress

Following the rescue, the passenger revealed that he was in a state of emergency due to a family crisis, which led to the risky boarding attempt. He was later counselled and given proper guidance to continue his journey safely.

Central Railway has officially recognized the act of Constable Ram Narayan Singh, commending his alertness, sense of duty, and human compassion. The constable’s life-saving action has been described as a model of commitment towards passenger safety and railway service.

Railway authorities continue to urge passengers to avoid boarding or alighting from moving trains, emphasizing the dangers involved in such attempts.
