Mumbai: Rs 10 Crore Spent On Road Repairs In Preparation For G20 Summit

Mumbai, 30th January 2023: In preparation for the G20 summit, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation has repaired the roads on a war footing, which has cost around Rs 10 crore. This expenditure is for the repair of five roads leading from the Santacruz area to the airport. This expenditure was approved ex-post by the administrators.

The first four-day meeting of the Development Working Group of the G-20 Summit was held in Mumbai in December. In just a few days, the streets of Mumbai were decorated to welcome the members from abroad attending the conference. The municipality had exerted all its energies to prepare for this conference. Representatives of 19 countries and the European Union will participate in these meetings. 14 meetings of this summit will be held in Maharashtra. Due to this, the roads in the airport area were sometimes blocked.

The Mumbai Municipal Corporation immediately levelled the road around the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport. The work was completed within a month by giving urgent task orders. The road from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport Gate No. 8 to Western Expressway was resurfaced. Military camp roads and CST roads were also levelled.
