Mumbai: Son Arrested For Murdering Father In Drunken Brawl In Vikhroli
Mumbai, 4th April 2023: A 23-year-old man has been arrested by Vikhroli police for allegedly beating his father to death in their home in Hariyali Village in Indira Nagar slum area of Vikhroli East. Sanjay Pundalik Salve (52) was reportedly beaten by his son Rahul Salve (23) in a drunken state on Sunday morning.
Initially, a case of accidental death was reported, but after a complaint was filed by Sanjay’s sister Nanda Salve (53), the police registered a case of murder under Section 302 of the IPC. Sanjay was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital after the incident, but doctors declared him dead due to severe head injuries.
Investigation revealed that Rahul was unemployed and had a history of quarrels with his father. Witnesses reported that the two were frequently fighting in a drunken state. The police have taken Rahul into custody and are conducting further investigation into the matter.
