Mumbai: Strict Security Planned By Police For New Year

Mumbai, 30th December 2022: The year 2022 is in its last leg and the whole country is ready to welcome the new year. In such a situation, preparations for the new year have started in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Mumbai Police is also engaged in arrangements for the New Year celebrations. Strict security arrangements are being made all around the city. For this, it has been planned to deploy policemen, SRPF squad, and QRT teams.

Several announcements have been made for the smooth completion of the New Year celebrations in Mumbai. Mumbai Police has said to deploy additional teams to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of New Year’s Eve celebrations. Mumbai Police informed that 25 DCPs, seven Additional Commissioners, 1,500 officers, around 10,000 policemen, 46 SRPF platoons and 15 QRT teams will be deployed given New Year celebrations on 31st December.

Significantly, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar held a special meeting with senior officers on 27th December to ensure security arrangements on the occasion of the New Year. In this meeting, along with the issues related to the security system, the use of a breath analyzer was also discussed. Due to the corona epidemic, the breath analyzer was not being used in Mumbai for the last two years.

The Corona epidemic is once again spreading its legs. Corona has assumed its rampant form in China. In such a situation, the central government has advised the state governments to take precautions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to follow rules like wearing masks, washing hands frequently and physical distancing. Mumbai is also alert, and on 27th December, Mumbai’s hospitals took part in a mock drill regarding preparations to deal with Corona.
