Borivali, 23rd August 2023: Borivali Police successfully apprehended a crook within two days and put him behind bars. Borivali police took action in the case of the embezzlement of watches worth Rs 27 lakhs.

The 47-year-old accused, identified as Sureshbhai Babubhai Rathod, is working in a Swiss Paradise watch showroom in Borivali. Two days ago, the owner of the showroom entrusted the Rathod with the delivery of four expensive Omega watches to customers. However, turning a lucky break to his advantage, Rathod, rather than delivering the watches to the customer, absconded with them.

This unsettling disclosure was revealed when, in the evening, the owner of the showroom contacted Rathod regarding the shipment of the order. However, he was then startled by the fact that Rathod’s phone had been off for a long time. Wary of his intentions, the owner then immediately rushed to the Borivali Police Station and registered a formal complaint in this case against him.

Acting promptly on the complaint, Borivali Police, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ninad Sawant, Police Inspector (Crime) Pradeep Kale, Police Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kadam, and his team, started the investigation in this matter. When Borivali Police tried to trace the accused, they found no indication of his location. Only after closer scrutiny by the police did they succeed in detecting his address, further leading to his arrest.

During the interrogation by the police, the accused admitted that he had stolen the watches. Additionally, he revealed that he had stolen further watches from the showroom, with a collective value of Rs 26 lakh, 81 thousand. Police are further investigating the case.
