Mumbai: Teenage Girl Loses Life In Adjacent Wall Collapse In Kurla

Kurla, 22nd August 2023: In an unfortunate incident that unfolded on Monday night, an eighteen-year-old girl tragically lost her life as an adjacent retaining wall collapsed on her head. The incident took place in the Kurla area of Mumbai.

The incident occurred on the night of August 21 in the Kurla West locality. The deceased girl was living with her family in the Subhash Nagar area of Kurla West, behind Bharat Talkies. At approximately 8:30 p.m., a protective wall adjacent to her residence, measuring seven to eight feet in height, unexpectedly crumbled onto a neighbouring house.

Promptly responding to the situation, neighbours immediately rushed the injured girl to a nearby hospital. Tragically, despite the efforts of the medical staff at the hospital, her injuries proved fatal, and she succumbed to them during the course of her treatment. According to the doctors, the young woman passed away in the late hours of the night during the treatment. Meanwhile, other family members who were also injured in this accident are currently undergoing medical treatment in the same hospital.

After the incident, local authorities and fire brigade teams reached the spot to investigate the circumstances surrounding the wall collapse. Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the wall gave way due to a fracture that had developed within its structure.

The injured girl was admitted to Bhabha Hospital in Kurla for treatment. But the doctor said that she died during the treatment.
