Mumbai: Toddy Centre Turmoil: In Violent Altercation, Man Struck With Bottle, Later Stabbed

Sakinaka, 15th September 2023: In a grisly skirmish that erupted in the local toddy centre in the Sakinaka area, a man was turbulently killed. The accused hit the deceased on the head with a toddy bottle and then later stabbed him with the broken bottle.

The Sakinaka Police have arrested 40-year-old accused Sher Ali in this case. The deceased in this incident is identified as Khurshid alias Rizwan Sheikh (36) and it is learned that he was a resident of Jarimari area in Kurla West.

Yesterday, both the accused and the deceased were sitting and binge-drinking toddy at the Jyoti Tadi-Madi Centre in Kazupada. According to the information, they had known each other for a long time. Locals informed that after sitting there for a few minutes, both had a disagreement on something, after which the accused, Sher Ali, started abusing Khurshid under the influence of alcohol.

However, in an abrupt twist, what had started as a heated verbal exchange between the two individuals quickly escalated into violence when Sher Ali struck the Khurshid with a toddy bottle. In a fit of rage, the accused went on and stabbed the deceased with that broken bottle, inflicting many injuries on Khurshid.

After the incident, when injured Khurshid was taken to Rajawadi Hospital, doctors declared him. Doctors said that Khurshid had serious injuries to his head and stomach, and he succumbed to these injuries during the treatment.

On the complaint of Shah Alam Sheikh, the Sakinaka police registered a case of murder against the accused, Sher Ali. With the help of CCTV footage, the accused has been taken into custody.
