Mumbai: Two Killed In Powai And Juhu Over Petty Disputes, Perpetrators Arrested

Juhu, 30th October 2023: In the peaceful streets of Powai and Juhu, two individuals lost their lives over seemingly trivial disputes in the last week. However, responding swiftly, police immediately arrested both alleged perpetrators.

The first incident occurred on October 20th on Juhu Church Road, when a heated argument escalated into violence, ultimately claiming the life of 35-year-old Nagesh Dudhkavre. Nagesh was brutally stabbed with a broken beer bottle following a dispute. Initially, the Juhu police had registered a case of grievous hurt. However, after Nagesh succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Kuper Hospital, the charges were elevated to murder. The accused, identified as Ravi alias Kuldeep Prajapati, was arrested by Juhu police following the incident.

The altercation initially began when Prajapati allegedly approached Nagesh and slapped him from behind. A heated exchange ensued, culminating in the fatal stabbing. Interestingly, this was not the first time Prajapati had encountered legal action, as a previous case had been registered against him at Juhu Police Station last year, involving allegations of serious assault and intimidation.

In a separate incident within the Powai police station area, a man tragically lost his life after a dispute turned fatal on Marol Road. The victim, a widower whose identity remains unknown, died after being pushed, causing his head to collide with a stone.

Powai police swiftly registered a case of murder in this matter and apprehended the alleged perpetrator, identified as Ananda alias Baju Mestri, aged 28. Mestri confessed to pushing the deceased during an argument over sleeping arrangements. The victim was reportedly residing on the footpath.

While the arrests of the accused have been made, the Powai Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
