Mumbai University Warns Colleges Over Pending Admission Documents, Sets 8-Day Deadline
Mumbai, 29th November 2024: Mumbai University has issued a final warning to affiliated colleges regarding the submission of necessary documents for student admissions, urging them to submit the required documents and prescribed fees within the next eight days. The university has made it clear that no further extensions will be granted, and failure to comply will result in the cancellation of student admissions.
Despite a previous deadline of September 30, 2024, many colleges have yet to submit the required documents related to the eligibility and enrollment of their students. As a result, the university has withheld the results of several students, leaving them in a state of uncertainty. This delay has led to significant difficulties for students who are attempting to proceed with further education or job applications.
In a circular issued to all affiliated colleges, Mumbai University emphasized the importance of adhering to the document submission timeline. The university reminded institutions that after first-year admissions, it is crucial to submit the necessary eligibility and registration documents in the same academic year. However, many colleges have failed to meet the prescribed deadlines for several academic years, including 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23.
To address this issue, Mumbai University initially set a submission deadline for February 15, 2024. This deadline was later extended to September 30, 2024. Now, with no further extensions forthcoming, the university has set a firm eight-day deadline for colleges to submit the pending documents along with the prescribed fees.
The university has also warned that colleges failing to comply with these requirements will be held fully responsible for any academic setbacks faced by the affected students. Additionally, the names of non-compliant colleges will be published on the university’s website.
