Mumbai’s CSMT-Ahmedabad Special Train for Cricket World Cup Final Showdown

Mumbai, 17th November 2023: In anticipation of the highly awaited Cricket World Cup final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Central Railway has announced special facilities for cricket enthusiasts travelling from Maharashtra.

A dedicated train service, the 01153 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) – Ahmedabad Special Express, is set to depart from CSMT station on Saturday, the 18th, at 10:30 PM. The train is scheduled to reach Ahmedabad railway station at 6:40 AM on Sunday, ensuring that fans arrive in time for the 2 PM kick-off of the World Cup final.

Given the anticipated late-night duration of the match, Central Railway has also arranged a special return journey train for the convenience of spectators. The 01154 AHMEDABAD – CSMT SPECIAL EXPRESS will depart from Ahmedabad Railway Station at 2 PM on Monday, the 20th, reaching CSMT station at 10:35 AM on the same day.

The special train service will make stops at key stations, including Dadar, Thane, Vasai, Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. Comprising 17 Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, the train will consist of 11 three-tier coaches, three two-tier AC coaches, one first AC coach, and two sleeper coaches.

Cricket enthusiasts are encouraged to make use of these special train services to ensure a smooth and convenient journey to witness the thrilling Cricket World Cup final between India and Australia.
