Murder Mystery Unfolds in Mumbai: Woman Found Dead in Tahnee Heights Apartment, Suspect at Large

Mumbai, 14th March 2024: In an incident unfolding in Mumbai, the lifeless body of 63-year-old Jyoti Shah was discovered in her 20th-floor apartment at Tahnee Heights on Napean Sea Road. Police investigations reveal that she was strangled to death.

Authorities are actively seeking Kanhaiya Kumar Pandit (19), a house help recently hired on Monday, originally from Bihar, in connection with the murder. The motive behind this heinous act is suspected to be theft.

Reports indicate that Jyoti’s husband, Mukesh, who owns a jewellery showroom, returned home in the evening to find no response upon ringing the doorbell. Upon entering with his spare key, he made the grisly discovery of his wife’s lifeless body in the bedroom. He promptly alerted the authorities and rushed her to the hospital, where she was unfortunately declared dead.

The Malabar Hill police are currently in the process of registering a case of murder, as details of the investigation continue to emerge.

This incident evokes memories of a similar one last May when an 85-year-old man was found dead in his Santacruz apartment. Remarkably, authorities managed to apprehend his 30-year-old caretaker from Ahmedabad within just 12 hours of the crime, shedding light on the swift response of law enforcement in such cases.
