Navi Mumbai: 22-Year-Old IT Professional Dies by Suicide in Airoli PG Room, Police Investigate

Navi Mumbai, 17th June 2025: A 22-year-old woman identified as Nandini Hariom Tiwari was found dead at her paying guest accommodation in Omkar Giri Society, Airoli Sector-1, on Sunday morning. Police suspect she died by suicide, allegedly hanging herself from a ceiling fan while alone in the room.

Originally from Karanpur, Nandini was employed at an IT company and had been residing with three other women in the PG flat. According to officials, her roommates had left for their hometowns on Saturday for the weekend, leaving Nandini alone.

The incident came to light when she did not respond to knocks or open the door until late Sunday afternoon. Around 12 noon, the Rabale police were alerted and rushed to the spot. Upon breaking open the door, they discovered her hanging inside the room.

Police registered a case of accidental death and have sent the body for post-mortem. “We have not yet confirmed the reason behind her extreme step and are conducting further investigation,” an officer from Rabale police station said.

Authorities are also expected to record statements from her roommates and examine her phone and personal belongings as part of the inquiry.
