Navi Mumbai Fire Emergency: Chemical Factory and Nearby Units Ravaged in Pawne MIDC Blaze

Navi Mumbai, 18th February 2024: A fierce fire erupted on Saturday (17th February) morning at a chemical factory located in Pawane MIDC, Navi Mumbai. The blaze originated at Sujan Chemoplast and quickly spread to adjacent units, affecting L. Liladhar, a food colouring company. Disturbing visuals from the scene captured thick black smoke billowing and flames consuming the structures.

Despite the intensity of the fire, no casualties have been reported from any of the affected units. Prompt action was taken by the fire brigade, dispatching ten fire tenders from Pawane Emergency Response Station and various other stations, including Rabale MIDC, Shiravane, Koparkhairane, and Vashi, to control the flames.

Officials are currently assessing the actual extent of the losses incurred by the units, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. The immediate response and coordinated efforts of the firefighting teams have helped prevent injuries or casualties in this alarming incident.
