Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Initiates ‘Waste To Best’ Initiative For School Students
Navi Mumbai, 12th February 2023: Keeping in mind that if cleanliness is inculcated in the minds of students from childhood, it will have an impact throughout their life, on behalf of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, typical activities like Plastiman, Dry Waste Bank for school students, and the ‘Waste to Best’ activity are being implemented for the students of class one to nine studying in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools. The concept of sustainability is being realized.
Various innovative competitions like painting competitions, poster competitions, mural competitions, and essay competitions are also organized. Keeping in mind the great response to all these competitions, similar activities are being implemented, including creating sustainable products from this waste, plastic waste, waste wood, glass, paper or cardboard, e-waste, and others. Through this, the imagination of children will be boosted and the value of waste will be inculcated in the minds of children unconsciously.
In the ‘Waste to Best Project’, students have to prepare sustainable items from waste and present them in their respective Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools by 23rd February. In this competition, the nine best projects will be selected from each municipal school in three groups – 1st to 5th primary group, 6th to 8th upper primary group, and 9th standard secondary group. These nine projects selected from each school will be sent to the municipal headquarters level on 24th February for the final round, where they will be evaluated and the final winning projects will be selected.
