Navi Mumbai Police Arrest Four Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang for Alleged Plot Against Salman Khan
Mumbai, 1st June 2024: On Saturday, the Navi Mumbai Police made a significant arrest, detaining four individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who were allegedly plotting an attack on superstar Salman Khan’s car in Panvel, as reported by ANI.
According to the report, there were plans to procure weapons from a Pakistani arms supplier. A first information report has been filed against more than 17 individuals, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, and Goldy Brar. The police have stated that further investigations are ongoing.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna, and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan, confirmed police officials.
This development comes several months after an incident in April where two individuals on motorcycles fired multiple shots outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra. The perpetrators, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were later apprehended in Gujarat. Another individual, Anuj Thapan, was arrested on April 26 in Punjab along with an accomplice. However, Thapan died on May 1 while in the custody of the Mumbai police’s crime branch.
Since November 2022, Salman Khan’s security level has been raised to Y-Plus due to threats from gang members Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Additionally, Khan has been granted permission to carry a personal firearm and has acquired an armored vehicle for enhanced protection.
In March of the previous year, an email threatening the 58-year-old actor was received at his office, prompting the Mumbai Police to register a case against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, along with another individual, under sections of the Indian Penal Code. The FIR stemmed from a complaint filed by Prashant Gunjalkar, who frequently visited Khan’s Bandra residence and operated an artist management company.
