Navi Mumbai: Several Complaints Registered Against Accused In Multi-Crore Investment Scam In Uran

Uran, 18th August 2023: An elaborate investment scam involving crores of rupees has come to light in Uran, leaving scores of common people defrauded. The mastermind behind this elaborate scheme, identified as Satish Vishnu Gavand, a resident of Uran in Navi Mumbai, is now on the radar of Uran Police.

The accused extorted crores of rupees from the innocent investors, enticing them with the promise of exceptionally high returns within 30 to 50 days. However, as the people did not get the returns within the said time period, a group of defrauded investors approached the CBD police station, lodging a comprehensive complaint against Gavand and his associates.

The CBD police promptly registered a case against the culprit, Satish Vishnu Gavand, along with 24 agents he had appointed across various villages. The charges slapped against them include cheating, embezzlement, fraudulent prize schemes, and money laundering under relevant legal provisions.

Last February, Uran police managed to apprehend Gavand and an associate, Shashikant Anant Gavand, red-handedly while attempting to abscond with cheated money. Authorities successfully seized an amount totaling Rs. 10 crore in connection with the case. Surprisingly, despite the arrest and subsequent release on bail, Gavand has failed to return the duped investors’ principal amount, exacerbating their grievances.

It appears that the hope of recouping their initial investments deterred many victims from filing formal complaints against him earlier. However, mounting pressure and the shattering of hopes of getting money back prompted several investors to file a formal complaint against the accused. The comprehensive list of accused individuals includes Sujit Mhatre, Nitesh Patil, Yogesh Joshi, Jeetendra Gavand, Adesh Mokal, Hitesh Gavand, Vishal Gavand, Mangesh Gavand, Hemant Gavand, Vikas Gavand, Riyaz Munna Sulemani, Nitesh Thakur, Mandar Patil, Pritesh Patil, Gaurav Patil, Naeem Mohammad Hanif Sheikh, Chetan Patil, Jyoti Thakur, Akshay Thakur, Priyanka Patil, Rupesh Mhatre, Pooja Mhatre, and Prateek Patil.
