Navi Mumbai: Suspected Thief Died After Alleged Assault By People; Police Arrested Accused

Kharghar, 9th August 2023: In Kharghar Colony’s Sector 12, two suspected thieves were allegedly beaten by a group of workers, in which one man lost his life. The Kharghar police have taken action against the people, arresting three individuals in connection with the case.

The ordeal began two days ago when an iron object was reportedly stolen from a block in Sector 12. After which, the owner of a local bar, along with his staff, searched for the suspected culprits in the area. Acting on the information, the employees managed to apprehend two individuals believed to be involved in the theft: Anil Jadhav and Vinod Rathod.

After being captured, Anil Jadhav and Vinod Rathod were subjected to physical assault by these people. Tragically, Rathod succumbed to injuries sustained during the alleged beating and lost his life yesterday.

Upon notification, a team led by Senior Police Inspector Rajeev Shejwal of the Kharghar police force promptly arrived at Omshanti Niwas in Sector 12 and arrested the accused. Police informed that Rathod’s body has been sent to the sub-district Hospital in Panvel for an autopsy report.
