Navi Mumbai: Traffic Police Crack Down On Garages Obstructing Palm Beach Road In APMC Area

Turbhe, 9th September 2023: In a bid to alleviate the persistent issue of traffic congestion caused by unauthorised garages along Palm Beach Road in the APMC area, the Traffic Branch of APMC’s Police Inspector, Vimal Bidve, has taken decisive action. A total of four individuals have been booked for their involvement in obstructing traffic due to these garages.

This crackdown is part of a broader effort to address the problem, as authorities have identified 54 such garages contributing to traffic woes in the vicinity. Deputy Commissioner of Police Tirupati Kakade has issued a stern directive to all traffic branch officials, instructing them to take immediate action against garage owners and any other entities obstructing the flow of traffic.

Sector 19 in APMC has been particularly affected by the presence of numerous wheeler repair garages situated along Palm Beach Road. Vehicles arriving for repairs at these garages often spill onto the Palm Beach route, causing significant traffic congestion and disruption.

To address this ongoing issue, Inspector Bidve convened a meeting earlier, emphasising that pedestrians using the footpath and motorists on the road should not face any inconvenience while vehicles are being repaired. However, despite these instructions, some garage owners continued to disregard these guidelines, leading to the enforcement of punitive actions against them.
