NCP Leader Flags Concerns Over Non-Functional Thane Station Escalators

Thane, 22nd August 2023: NCP leader and former Housing Minister of Maharashtra, Dr. Jitendra Awhad, recently took to the digital realm to express his concerns about the state of affairs at Thane station. The once-stylish escalators, he pointed out, appeared to have lost their operational charm and were merely put on display. Dr. Awhad didn’t mince words when he noted that precisely when these escalators were most needed, during the mornings and evenings, they seemed to be consistently out of order. This prompted him to question the railway administration’s level of commitment, suggesting that complacency was not an option.

In response, the Central Railway expressed their regrets over any inconveniences faced by commuters. The root of the problem was identified as the activation of the emergency brake safety switch at 08:32 am, rendering the escalators on Platforms 5 and 6 non-operational. A prompt notification was dispatched to the relevant agency, followed by the dispatch of a technical team to the site by 08:58 am. After thorough scrutiny, the team successfully reinstated the escalators to their functional state, thus resolving the issue at hand.
