Now Travel From Viman Nagar To Kothrud In 36 Minutes For Rs 30 Via Pune Metro

Pune, 6th March 2024: Pune’s metro network has taken a significant leap forward as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi Metro line today. Commuters can enjoy a swift 36-minute journey from Vanaj (Kothrud) to Ramwadi (Viman Nagar) metro stations, with a reasonable fare of Rs 30.

The introduction of the Ramwadi station connects the metro to Ahmednagar road, providing a gateway to various areas, including Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, Yerwada, Kharadi, Chandannagar, and Wagholi. Discussions with PMPML are underway to link these areas to Ramwadi Metro station through buses. A new PMPML bus service will be initiated shortly, enabling passengers to seamlessly travel from Wagholi to Ramwadi. From there, they can connect to the Pimpri-Chinchwad metro line or reach PMC building, Shivajinagar, and Deccan Gymkhana areas.

Managing Director Shravan Hardikar highlighted that the new metro route, starting from Ramwadi, will save commuters time otherwise spent in traffic jams.

The Ramwadi station is anticipated to attract an additional 15 thousand passengers, facilitating travel to Pimpri-Chinchwad, Vanaj, and other key locations in the city. In a bid to further enhance connectivity, share rickshaws will be introduced from Ramwadi station to Phoenix Mall, Chandannagar, and Kharadi routes. Discussions are ongoing with rickshaw associations to implement this service, providing passengers with an efficient and time-saving transportation option.
